About Pecus Pellet Eco Feed Range

Pecus Eco-feed range offers a variety of pelleted feeds specifically designed for ruminant
animals, including sheep and goats, beef cattle, and a drought feed. Among them, the Pecus Drought
Pellets stand out as a balanced survival diet that can be fed to animals during times of feed scarcity.
One of the main advantages of Pecus Drought Pellets is that they are molasses-based, which
enhances their palatability and encourages animals to consume them. Additionally, the pellets have
reduced wastage and dust, making it easier for animals to consume without leaving any behind.
Another noteworthy advantage is that Pecus Drought Pellets can be fed on the ground without the
need for feeding troughs. This helps reduce segregation and selective feeding, allowing more
animals to receive their allocated pellet volume and ensuring better survival rates during drought
conditions.

The composition of Pecus Drought Pellets is formulated to provide animals with the
necessary nutrients to maintain their health and well-being. The pellets contain a minimum
of 100 g/kg protein, which is essential for muscle development and growth. They also
contain a minimum of 120 g/kg of fibre and a maximum of 250 g/kg, which is important for
gut health and digestion. Additionally, Pecus Drought Pellets provide a minimum of 15 g/kg
of calcium and 2 g/kg of phosphorus, which are important for bone development and
maintenance. The pellets also contain a minimum of 15 g/kg and a maximum of 70 g/kg of
fat, which is a crucial source of energy for animals during times of feed scarcity. One
important thing to note about Pecus Drought Pellets is that they contain a maximum of 400
g/kg of non-protein nitrogen (NPN), and the bag comes with an NPN warning. It is important
to be mindful of this and feed the pellets accordingly to prevent any potential harm to the
animals. It is recommended to feed the pellets twice per week during severe drought
conditions, providing enough for 3 – 4 days to ensure more animals ingest their allocated
pellet volume, thereby improving their survival rates.

In addition to the Pecus Drought Pellets, Pecus also offers a range of other pelleted feeds,
including the Pecus Beef 14 Pellet, designed for beef cattle. The Pecus Beef 14 Pellet is a complete
balanced diet that can be used in a variety of production applications, including fattening programs,
bull diets, and production and maintenance diets. Like the Pecus Drought Pellets, Pecus Beef 14
Pellet is molasses-based, which makes it more palatable and encourages animals to consume it. It
also comes in pelleted form to reduce waste and selective eating. The composition of Pecus Beef 14
Pellet contains a minimum of 140 g/kg of protein, 120/220 g/kg of fibre, 0.7-1.0 g/kg of calcium, 0.30
g/kg of phosphorus, and 25/70 g/kg of fat. These nutrients are crucial for the development and
maintenance of beef cattle's muscles, bones, and overall health. The feeding recommendations vary
depending on the production system. For feedlot fattening, the feed can be used as a starter and
grower for weaner calves, and hominy chop can be added in the finisher phase up to 35% to
encourage fat deposition. For growing out on green pastures, Pecus Beef 14 Pellets can be fed to
growing bulls and young animals as a production supplement on green pastures. For production
supplement, feed 1.5kg of Pecus Beef 14 Pellets per day to beef cattle as a supplement to maintain

condition and increase milk production after calving. It is important to ensure that a Pecus Trace
Mineral block is always available to animals receiving Pecus Beef 14 Pellets.

Sheep & Goat 15 is a versatile complete ration formulated to be fed as creep feed and a
complete diet as a finisher. The feed is ideal to be fed as is because it is completely balanced. The
pelleted form curbs waste and selective feeding. It can be fed as a supplement to small stock on
veld. The feed contains sufficient amounts of protein, energy, and minerals.
